Cathedral of Our Lady of Carmen

La Catedral del Líbano Tolima es una gran obra de arte neogótico que empezó a construirse después que en el año 1954 el templo anterior fuera destruido por un incendio. Es el resultado del trabajo de todas las familias católicas del Líbano que ayudaron con sus ofrendas y realizaron diversas actividades como ventas de comidas, remates de Ganado, rifas y muchas donaciones. Tiene el título de Catedral y es sede episcopal desde el año 1989 en que el Papa Juan Pablo II erigió la diócesis de Líbano-Honda.

El Proyecto para la elaboración e instalación de estos nuevos vitrales de la Catedral se inició en el 2020 en plena pandemia y se contó con el apoyo de todos los feligreses y de la Comunidad parroquial que valoraron esta iniciativa y en menos de dos años ayudaron a hacerla realidad. Estos hermosos vitrales reflejan no solo la grandeza y lo majestuoso de Dios, sino que nos Narran la Historia de la Salvación, además se han elaborado para embellecer la Casa de Dios, para la Catequesis de todos, para que los habitantes del Líbano y los visitantes puedan acercarse a visitarla y contemplar estas obras de arte religioso.

Los Vitrales de la Catedral del Líbano nos permiten hacer un recorrido por los textos más importantes de la Biblia. En la derecha encontraremos el Antiguo Testamento y en la izquierda el Nuevo Testamento. Al ingresar al templo, se avanza frente al altar y allí haciendo una oración ante el Sagrario, se comienza el recorrido para contemplar cada uno de los pasajes más importantes de la Historia de la Salvación.

The Cathedral of Libano Tolima is a great work of neo-Gothic art that began to be built after the previous temple was destroyed by a fire in 1954. The Project for the elaboration and installation of these new stained glass windows of the Cathedral began in 2020 in the middle of the pandemic and had the support of all the parishioners and the parish community who valued this initiative and in less than two years helped to make it a reality. These beautiful stained glass windows reflect not only the greatness and majesty of God, but they also tell us the History of Salvation. They have also been made to beautify the House of God, for the Catechesis of all, so that the inhabitants of Lebanon and visitors You can come visit it and contemplate these works of religious art.

The Stained Glass Windows of the Libano Cathedral allow us to take a tour of the most important texts of the Bible. On the right we will find the Old Testament and on the left the New Testament.
